Q: Can you introduce some difficulties you encountered when promoting this technology in Papua New Guinea 20 years ago? How did you overcome these difficulties?

The biggest obstacle we face is when we teach this technique to locals in the Eastern Highlands (Papua New Guinea).

We continue to simplify technology to make it easier for locals to learn.

This is a disinfection device made of three gasoline tanks. It can be comparable to the sterilization efficiency of oil-fired boilers, but the cost is only 800 yuan ($125), while the cost of traditional sterilization methods is more than 100,000 yuan.

It is also safer. There is no need to train locals to operate the boiler, which is a very professional skill.

In addition, it is portable and can be moved from one village to another after the work is completed.

We have also taught aquaculture technology to the local people on the spot. After nearly 20 years of hard work, we have achieved good results.
