TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Danone Specialized Nutrition (SN) Indonesia inaugurated the construction of a Biomass Boiler fueled by rice husk in the PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardhika factory area, Prambanan, which is part of Danone SN Indonesia, Wednesday 15 June 2022. Danone SN Indonesia cooperates with Berkeley Energy Commercial Industrial Solution (BECIS) built and operated the boiler, with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint of production activities at the Prambanan Plant by up to 32 percent.Vice President General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, Vera Galuh Sugijanto, said that climate change is an increasingly emerging challenge and its effects can be felt today.He referred to the rice husk-fueled boiler facility as one way to overcome the impacts of climate change.Danone SN Indonesia is collaborating with BECIS, a renewable energy service provider in Asia, to realize a boiler with a capacity of using rice husks of 10,500 tons/year.The energy it produces is up to 6 tons of steam per hour."Making it the first industrial biomass boiler fueled by
